L’arte, l’uomo e Dio: l’epifania iconografica quale autentico spazio di relazione intermondana nel pensiero di Pavel A. Florenskij
Keywords:
icon, space, transcendence, writing, encounterAbstract
If it is true that art, as an «existential reality», can be broken down into spatial data legible through a «dualistic approach», the icon is the maximum representative of this possibility: the iconostasis therefore becomes a physical place not only and not only of pictorial representation, but
above all metaphysical of the always alive and present dialogue between the visible world and the Invisible world; furthermore, to try to stem the ever-present idolatrous risk, iconic writing implements a language of paradox, in which presence and absence, light and shadow, visibility and invisibility are linked in order to allow the icon to reveal, but at the same time do not pretend to circumscribe God. A privileged place of communication, the icon becomes a catalyst capable of opening an «objective and original space to the gaze, both spiritual and physical».
